You might be wondering how a Franklin girl and a South Side Irish boy ended up engaged. It’s quite simple - Anna and Jack were a match made in heaven. Well, really a match made by Jack’s sister one night at Jo-Cats. 

In January of 2019, Anna was at a birthday party with Lizzy Hollmer (née Fahey). Quite familiar with the Milwaukee bar scene, Anna was working the room when, between sips of her of white claw, Lizzy suggested Anna date her brother. Lizzy said Jack had a great job and loved going to Vegas. Anna said, “Say less!”

Anna woke up the next morning to Jack asking her on a date. Later that same day, Lizzy woke up to a text from her brother asking, “Who’s this 10?!”

Living downtown Chicago, Jack came up to Milwaukee two weeks later to take Anna on a date, like the gentleman that he is. Their first date was a Milwaukee Bucks game and it was a true team effort on both sides. Jack’s sister not only set them up in the first place, but his brother, Pat Fahey, lent him his car to get there. Kathy Mauer's friend, Jane Kresse, bribed Anna with great Bucks tickets to finally go on a date. Anna was nervous to take Jack to a crowded restaurant for a pregame drink, so Rachel Ruetz saved her a spot at the bar and pretended to run into them. Once they settled in at the game, Jack suggested double-fisting Miller Lite tallboys. They immediately agreed to go on a second date the next weekend.

Although they lived in different cities, it was love at first sight. Anna and Jack became Amtrak frequent fliers, visiting each other every weekend. In 2021 Anna left behind her beloved city of Milwaukee and moved to Chicago for love. Through the years they’ve built a life together full of family, friends, and FUN! Jack and Anna always say they are so grateful to have so many reasons to celebrate life with the people that they love.

Jack asked Anna to marry him on Mother’s Day 2023 before hosting both families for their annual brunch. It was the happiest day of their lives, so naturally they ended up at a nightclub at 4pm.
 

2024 is going to be such a special year and they can’t wait for you to be a part of it!
